Can I See What Ads People are Running on Facebook? Yes, yes you can.
It feels like I’m spying every time I check out whether or not a company is running ads on Facebook. What are your thoughts? Somehow you found your way onto this blog, before you knew it was possible, did it feel like cheating to you? Because really, we can look at what our “competitor” is doing and copy her.(I put “competitor” in quotes because according to Wallace Wattles, we must move from the competitive to the creative, and I’d agree!) Swipe and Deploy IS a big strategy in the Marketing sphere. You see what is working for someone who has some similarity to you, and then you do your version…

I Want to add Music to my Videos – How Do I Do That? (iPhone/iPad)
I’ve gotten this question from enough business owners / solopreneurs that I think it’s worth writing a blog to address it. Now, with all of the technology out there, everyone seems to have their own system. Some of us edit on Macs. Some on PCs. Some film and edit on phones or tablets, which leads to both iPhone and Android processes. For simplicity, this article is only showcasing how to add music to videos you are editing on your iPhone. If you edit on your computer in iMovie, I will create a separate blog for that, in the meantime I do have this video about editing in general in iMovie.…

What does “User-Generated Content” Mean?
According to our trust-worthy friend, Wikipedia, (take THAT teachers who told me I couldn’t site Wikipedia) “User-generated content (UGC)… is any form of content, such as images, videos, text and audio, that have been posted by users on online platforms such as social media and wikis.[“ How does this differ from “content” in general? The difference is between YOU as your brand photographing or filming, and one of your fans turning the camera on themselves and posting it. Of course it depends on who’s talking. If you posted your video to Youtube, according to Youtube, your video would be considered “User-Generated Content”. Same if a news-station were to use videos filmed by someone outside the agency…

The Netherlands, Spain and Beyond: Travel Blog
As my and Daniel’s trip to Spain draws closer and I must look into accommodations, activities and transportation, I also want to keep in mind what sort of video I want to make! While going through my old blogs to optimize for SEO (no, I did not do anything with that in mind although it would have saved me a bunch of effort) I realized that while I had a before Netherlands and an unboxing after losing my equipment over there, I never did share my travel vlog. Due to belonging to the service “Next Vacay” , Daniel and I got to go to Amsterdam for cheap ($300 a ticket!!!!!)…

What are your Three Words?
Happy Independence Day to America! I would also like to wish a “Happy Independence Day” to everyone who realizes their destiny is forever in their hands. No matter how our hands are or feel bound, our thoughts are always our own. Today has reminded me of an activity the illustrious Tress Hotzel of https://tresshotzel.com led us through at a recent coaching event in Ann Arbor which was an echo of the same activity the magical Sandi Maki of https://www.sandimaki.com ran our team through in January. What are your three words? What three words capture the essence of you? What ideals speak to your inner most essence? Happiness? Love? Joy? Trust?…

Permission to Speak? Granted.
I am blessed to know so many amazing and inspirational people! One of them, Nick Suino of https://nicklaus-suino.com put on a kick-butt day-long event and asked me to speak. So I did! I come to the stage at 2:36 I talk a bit about my story and how asking “What’s the worst that can happen” while either making consistent small steps or jumping head first into something helps to develop us into the person that we aspire to be.

Should I hire a videographer for my event?
It’s a difficult decision to decide if it’s worth the cost to hire a videographer for your event. In the effort of making things simpler, I made a flow chart! (Ooh! For the record, if you’re wondering about a photographer for your event, this flowchart works the same- just exchange for the right lingo.) I’ve broken it down into three outcomes: You forgo having any media coverage You locate a volunteer or encourage attendee content You hire a professional videographer (in any range of skill) It would be inaccurate and quite leading to say “hiring a videographer is the answer in every scenario”. It just isn’t! However, there are a…

Your Life is a Movie and You are the Editor
The Director may have the vision, and the Camera Operator may capture the shot, but it is the Editor who decides how the story flows, where the scenes appear, which shots gets seen and which don’t. We are all Editors – irrespective of whether we make videos for our selves/businesses or not, we are all Editors because we are all editing the movie that is our life. Will we see that person again? Did they move the plot forward? Are they contributing to our character growth? We decide the supporting actors who push us in our character arc. We can also decide to cut those that do not move our…
