How Small Businesses Can Use AI to Create Better Marketing Videos

July 28, 2025 by Hanna Gazo
AI in video marketing

Creating marketing videos for your small business used to feel like a major production. And to be honest… between coming up with ideas, writing scripts, filming, editing, and trying to post consistently, it’s A LOT.

The good news is, AI tools for video creation can help you create better marketing videos without replacing human creativity. In fact, when used right, AI can be a powerful assistant to both business owners and video professionals alike.

Why Use AI for Video Marketing?

They help you:

  • Save time with automated editing.
  • Generate ideas and scripts faster.
  • Repurpose content for different platforms.
  • Improve your video’s SEO and reach.

And for small businesses, that means more content with less stress.

1. Automated Video Editing

Tools like Capcut, Descript, Wisecut, or Adobe Premiere Pro’s AI features allow you to:

  • Auto-cut filler words and pauses.
  • Resize videos for different platforms.
  • Generate B-roll from text prompts.

Perfect for turning a 20-minute Zoom call into a 60-second social post.

2. Scriptwriting & Storyboarding

If you’re stuck on what to say or how to structure your next video, AI scriptwriting tools like ChatGPT or Google Gemini can help you outline, script, and refine your message faster.

They’re especially handy for:

  • Product explainers
  • How-to videos
  • Short form content like ads or promos

But remember: AI can give you a rough draft. Your voice, personality, and expertise still matter most.

3. AI-Powered Captions & Translations

Adding captions is non-negotiable in 2025, and if you notice nowadays, most people scroll with the sound off.

AI tools like CapCut, VEED, or YouTube’s auto-captioning help you:

  • Add accurate subtitles.
  • Translate into other languages for global reach.
  • Boost accessibility and SEO.

4. Video Performance Optimization

Want to know which part of your video people are skipping? Or which thumbnail works best?

AI tools integrated in platforms like YouTube Studio or Meta’s Ads Manager analyze:

  • Engagement
  • Retention
  • Click-through rates

This allows you to make smarter content decisions over time.

5. Analytics and Optimization

AI doesn't just help create videos, it helps them perform better. Tools like TubeBuddy and VidIQ give you keyword suggestions, title ideas, and thumbnail analysis to boost visibility and engagement.

But Wait! Is AI Replacing Videographers?

Absolutely not.

AI helps with the technical and repetitive parts of video production, but it doesn’t replace the creative direction, human emotion, or storytelling magic that a skilled videographer brings to the table.

In fact, many video professionals are now using AI themselves to speed up workflows and deliver even better results. It's about working smarter, not cutting corners.

Should You Try It?

If you’re a small business owner looking to:

  • Stay consistent on social media.
  • Educate your audience.
  • Build brand authority with video.

…then yes, AI tools are 100% worth exploring.

Start small. Try one tool. Repurpose one piece of content. Use it to support your creative process, not replace it.

I get to learn from a LOT of different businesses I get to learn from a LOT of different businesses doing this job, and that’s probably one of my favorite things about it.

Video marketing is a pretty broad term but for me, it means creating videos that businesses and nonprofits can actually use to share who they are, what they do and why it's important.

Website videos, social media content, testimonials, services, products, events, behind the scenes... basically anything that helps people understand what you do and get a better feel for the people behind it.

If you want to see a few examples of what I mean, comment VIDEO and we’ll happily send some over.

You're not trying to say everything to everyone, you're just being clear on who you’re talking to and what you want them to feel when they watch.

When that part is solid, everything else just carries it further. That’s when video stops feeling like content and starts feeling like an extension of your brand.
I’ve spent years building a business I’m proud of I’ve spent years building a business I’m proud of and now I’m learning how to keep building it while raising someone I’m even prouder of.

It’s not always perfectly balanced and I don’t think it needs to be. Some days work and motherhood just happen side by side. Like this.
It’s funny how the shortest videos can sometimes t It’s funny how the shortest videos can sometimes take the longest to get right. 😅

There’s a lot of thought that goes into making something feel simple, natural, and easy to watch. And that’s part of what I love about creating video.

Need some of those little 30-second videos for your own business? I’d be happy to make them! My DMs are always open.

Big thank you to @feltedskystudio and #NeedleFeltingJoy for continuing to bring me back and trusting me with your videos. I always have such a good time creating with these guys, and apparently I get to expand my social circle while I’m at it. 😂 Hanging with the spideys and @amykimballphotography is so fun!

But most of the time, what actually makes something work isn’t the obvious stuff.

It’s the thinking behind it, the intention, and the way everything connects.

We got such a beautiful day for this shoot, and it was nice getting to update a few shots from our last one together. No sense in running winter ads in summer right? Although it is Michigan and hail is not unheard of year-round... 🥶

And while we're replacing some footage, it's also time for me to replace something else...

It’s not always about needing more ideas, sometime It’s not always about needing more ideas, sometimes it’s just the mental load of having to figure it out every time.

That’s the part that makes content feel heavier than it should be and once that pressure’s gone, everything starts to feel a bit more manageable 😅
